What do you like about Milwaukee? It's cheap to live here. Lake Michigan is beautiful. I miss the weekend festivals in summer. Neighborhood bars that can withstand expensive and fly-by-night trends. UW-Milwaukee. Church bells. Old industries.

What do you dislike about Milwaukee? Workaholics and alcoholics. Not so veggie-friendly. Only smaller pockets of interesting areas, culture and people. Tracts of poverty and crime offset by Lake Drive mansions... gap in incomes. Lack of physical or spiritual health. Extremely provincial. White flight and unemployment in the 1980's really killed its formerly progressive (Socialist) spirit. Downtown can feel surprisingly dead. I hate Marquette University. Bud Selig. Former mayor Maier and his henchman Breier. Police everywhere pulling people over for traffic tickets, yet crime almost everywhere? I miss Milwaukee, but I'm glad that I moved away. It's a beautiful place gone moderately wrong.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? East Side, Riverwest, Bay View

How expensive is it? It's very reasonable.

Is it safe? It's safer than it was, but it's not as safe as other cities. Still, I never felt that I was constantly in danger.

How is the weather? Better than Minneapolis, that's for sure. ;-)

Additional thoughts? Nah, I've farted enough already. :-)

What do you like about Milwaukee?

Thousands of parks, the Lake, the downtoan area, the thousands of festivals (cultural, summerfest, etc), WMSE radio station, many great restaraunts (Ma Fischers, word)

What do you dislike about Milwaukee?

Just the segregation, but on the east side I didn't notice it that much.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?

The entire East side, North Ave, Oakland, Downer, Locust, Prospect, Farwell, etc.

How expensive is it?

A bit expensive, but not too bad for a city of its size.

Is it safe?

I always felt safe.

How is the weather?

Lake Effect makes it very nice indeed, but further inland, it is typical midwest: hard winters and hard summers. Luckily though, spring and autumn seem to last a really long time. But so does the winter..

Additional thoughts?

Milwaukee is one of my favorite cities in America!
