What do you like about Cleveland?

It's small, but actually trying to expand meaning they've gotten a better selection of restaurants in the passed few years. It is a safe city. I'd feel comfortable raising a family here no doubt. The weather is desireable. It's near pretty mountains and the Ocoee River (one of the best river rafting around). You can get anywhere in Cleveland in 15-20 minutes or less at pretty much anytime of day. We have some fairly good schools.
It's 30 minutes from Chattanooga, a bigger city, but not a huge city. But thankfully it has many things Cleveland lacks.

What do you dislike about Cleveland?

I feel because it is "a real ok" place to live that few people leave it, because they feel safe here and don't want to risk going out into the "real, big world" and challanging themselves or learning anything new. That leaves Cleveland and it's people unaware of the finer things in life. I've seen it's settling appeal be disabling to many. It's a real simple, close minded town. A true bible belt town, majority of the city are Christian. I'm not against that, but many people are Christian just because "it's the thing to be" in this town.

Here you either have money and religion or you don't. Very cliche'. It's a southern, working class city. There is hardly a nightlife, Chattanooga is 30 minutes away but the nightlife there isn't too extensive. Around here, you better plan on finding one place you like to go out to at night, and sticking to it.

There is hardly anything for young people to do, i've seen so many revert to partying and risk taking due to boredom.

Not anywhere near the ocean

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
It's hit and miss. Usually theres nicer places to live on the North West side. But theres also fairly decent places on the North East and some south side. You'd just have to ask around. It's not hard to decide which side is right for you.

How expensive is it?
Cost of living is good.

Is it safe?
Yes, it is really safe. There are certain areas less safe than others but you could ask about that too, once you know where they are, just don't move there. There aren't too many. And even there the violent crime rates are very low.

How is the weather?
Good weather. But it changes everyday. You truly do have to look at the weather forecast to know how to dress each day. But you get all 4 seasons. Beautiful, warm, gentle winds in Spring. Hot, sometimes humid summers. Cool, sunny, beautiful falls, and Cold, wet winters.
And it rains randomly thru all seasons but not an unbearable amount.

Additional thoughts?
If Cleveland wasn't so close minded and judgemental in their views and opinions on life and people, if it wasn't such a painfully obvious working class city, and if it was near the ocean, I'd probably live here forever.
