What do you like about Colorado Springs? It was a very tight knit community and once you got into a clique of people, they treat you like family. Everyone knows everyone and it really helps with getting around and having a social life. The theatre scene is pretty big and once you have a car, your parents really don't have much say on what you do here because if you know people everything is free.

What do you dislike about Colorado Springs? Getting into the community is really hard because everyone here has known each other since they were born practically. There's so much homeless people, oh my god like lock your car doors always because they will steal anything out of your car. They stole my pennies. There's also a lot of drug influence. My next door neighbors had to be arrested cuz they were making meth and I lived right beside a police department so.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I love Manitou so much, it's so artsy and there's hippies everywhere. It has so many places to eat and so many different walks of life. The GoodWills in this town are so good like the best GoodWills ever. The one in downtown Manitou is small, but it's better than the one on Circle, trust me.

How expensive is it? Manitou is pretty expensive because of all the tourists, but food is alright prices and none of them are ridiculous. Even downtown has pretty acceptable prices. I don't really know about the shopping because I really just like thrifting. Antique stores are crazy expensive though, but it's the same stuff at GoodWill like idgi.

Is it safe? It is if you lock your doors and have a good security system. I didn't have a security system, but it was okay. I knew some people in Broadmoor Bluffs who's house was broken into. In Skyway it's like a daily thing though like I honestly would never live in Skyway. It's really gorgeous, but I know probably ten people who live there and their house has been broken into like no thank you.

How is the weather? The winters suck cuz your hair gets so dry it starts to become static-y and that's like insanely annoying. The summers are 80 degrees with zero humidity, but make sure you get up early cuz it rains like daily at 12-2 and it's like heavy heavy rain and it closes all the pools. I love the rain though and honestly, I don't think it's ever warm enough to swim here. It's like when you come out of the water you stick your entire body into a freezer.

Additional thoughts? I'm never moving back here again, but I'm glad I did.

What do you like about Colorado Springs? It is friendly, sunny, and breath takingky beautiful
What do you dislike about Colorado Springs? The extremes between the Christian right and the Liberal left.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I like where I live in Monument the best, but Old Colorado City and Manitou are fun too.
How expensive is it? It is moderately expensive but still a value. I came from Texas, which is cheaper, but I also own a home in CA, which is expensive. Colorado Springs is a value because the property taxes and state taxes together are about equivalent to Texas property taxes and much less than CA. Cost if living is pretty moderate in general. Homes are more expensive than Texas, but you get more for your money.
Is it safe? I have lived here (Monument) for 15 years and have never locked my doors ever.
How is the weather? When I moved here, I thought it was going to be cold. I have experienced it to be a very good balance of seasons, not too cold, not too hot. No place but San Diego compares with our summers. Springs are a bit snowy, but we have more sunshine than Miami, FL.
Additional thoughts? I love where we live. It is beautiful and scenic. The people are pretty wonderful in general. It is a great place to be outside.
