What do you like about Winnipeg?
It is basically a very large small town, which is both good and bad. To be honest i plan to move as soon as I graduate. The large amount of Seven Elevens is good? And the exchange is fun. Also we have good festivals, like folk fest, fringe and folklorama.
What do you dislike about Winnipeg?
I effing hate the transit system. Our small population cannot sustain a decent system so taking transit takes forever. Quite inconvenient. I just am not a fan of Winnipeg, no one ever leaves. It's like a small town in that respect.
What are your favourite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Osbourne Village is pretty good, as is the area around the WAG and the Exchange, but only during the day. Other than that you need to use your imagination.
How expensive is it?
Not too bad, fairly cheap actually. Compared to other places, for sure.
Is it safe?
Well I mean is any city safe? As long as you're smart and don't go walking around the north end or downtown at night you'll be fine.
How is the weather?
Jesus Christ. Most of the year is 40 below, absolutely freezing and with snow up to your hips. Then bam, suddenly it is blisteringly hot for two months, then back to winter. Overall, it's always windy.
Additional thoughts?
Winnipeg is not that bad. It's not perfect, but hey, it is a lot better than some places. There's a lot of vegetation throughout the city, since we're so spread out. Not a bad place.

What do you like about Winnipeg? Lots of culture, lots of "folk-" activities, that's about it.

What do you dislike about Winnipeg? Sam Katz, lots of tax collecting police officers and photo radar cars, not a lot of economy driving businesses, communism/monopolies example mb hydro, mpi, gambling & liquor is all controlled provincially

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Corydon always has something going on, Osbourne & the Forks are points of interest as well. It comes down to making your own sense of fun; do not rely on Winnipeg to provide.

How expensive is it? Everything is fairly cheap, people here don't move a lot of money so pretty much recession-proof... or consistently in recession?

Is it safe? There is no city that is safe.

How is the weather? Blistering hot summers, frigid winters, makes for a year round battle.

Additional thoughts? Winnipeg is what you make of it.
