What do you like about Louisville? The different sections of the city surrounding the downtown area and how easy they are to get to. The Derby.
What do you dislike about Louisville? If you're under 21, there's nothing to do. The city has no nightlife and gets pretty boring once you've lived there for a long time.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The east end, Waterfront Park area, artsy areas downtown.
How expensive is it? Nothing compared to bigger cities. Paying for parking is unheard of in Louisville unless you're in the heart of downtown, and even then prices are cheap.
Is it safe? I lived in the east end, and that part of town was safe. The south or west however, not so much.
How is the weather? Freezing one day, 70 with thunderstorms and tornados the next. If you have allergies don't move here. I moved away from the city recently and have rarely gotten sick. It's a bit ridiculous how crazy the weather can be. Be prepared for temps in the 100's in the summer, with absolutely no breeze.
Additional thoughts? I miss Louisville sometimes, people will actually smile back at you when you're walking past.

What do you like about Louisville? The people, the setting, the parks, Thunder over Louisville
What do you dislike about Louisville? Air quality
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? East/South End, St. Matthews, Downtown
How expensive is it? Cheap
Is it safe? One of the safest big cities in America
How is the weather? Cold in the Winter, hot in the Summer, great in the Spring and Fall.
Additional thoughts? Louisville has a great arts scene, great dining, low cost of living, and friendly people (don't listen to the people that say Louisvillians are snobby). There is always something going on in Louisville. Downtown is sprawling with development. Overall, Louisville is a great city.
