What do you like about Iowa City? In my opinion, Iowa City is probably the artistic and cultural center of the whole state. The ped mall and most of Downtown is pretty great, right beside the University of Iowa. It's a beautiful city - lots of trees. Just the right size.
What do you dislike about Iowa City? Frat boys and the more obnoxious students, police can be a bit overzealous sometimes.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Downtown and the U of I campus, definitely.
How expensive is it? A little pricy for the state maybe, but probably cheaper than other larger cities would be.
Is it safe? Pretty much. There's only one area that could be considered a bad neighborhood, and it's not all that bad. The city's too small to really support any gang violence or that kind of danger.
How is the weather? It's Iowa - these days we get winter and summer with a week of spring or fall in between.
Additional thoughts? Good place to live, and a superior Liberal Arts university.
