What do you like about Perth?

The beaches and generally always excellent weather. Kite surfing, outdoor culture. Road trips to Lancelin and Margaret River. Low speeding fines! And close to Thailand/Bali for cheap holidays.. quicker than going to Sydney too.

What do you dislike about Perth?

Expensive Beer, and comodities in general. Early closing times of pubs and clubs and lack of open businesses on weekend. Slow traffic lights.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?

Scarborough Beach, Cottesloe, Fremantle.

How expensive is it?

Quite expensive. $10 for a pint of beer. Most venues have a cover charge. $160 p/wk for a room to rent.

Is it safe?
Generally not too bad. The odd angry youngster on late nights in the city.

How is the weather?

Insanely good!

Additional thoughts?
Its got potential, but its nightlife is frustrating, feels like there's too many rules and too much red tape.

What do you like about Perth?
i like the laid back attitute
the aussie pride in it, it'd quiet a relaxed place to live in, the beaches are great, the weather usualy is, although this year it's been a bit mixed up. i like how its not a big city like LA or NEW YORK but still has a good community feeling and there are nice schools and unis, although some are quiet rough and need better teachers and stuff. i like how everyone is really chilled back, you can joke with people in australia, but you wouldnt be able to say these sort of things to people on other countries, theyd take it as a very offensive insult, and who knows next.
the sun doesnt set till bout 8-9pm , also due to daylight savings.

What do you dislike about Perth?
there isnt always much to do. theres alot of racism, between indigenous australians and australians ( racism between both races ). the police are'nt alwyas veyr helpful and tend to turn blind eyes in some situations. the average property prices are sky high, rangin from $300 000 + , someitmes the averiage is in the $450 000's.
there isnt always alot going on and so you get bored easily someitmes.
the winter, it get cold wet and humid.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?hillarys. whitfords, karrynup, carousel are great places to go also mullaloo beach. midland is improving alot. it used to be very boring and old and alot of teenage issues ( street drinking, aboriginals bashin innocent individuals) but its all coming together now. the city has some good areas, harbour town is also a must. great buys there.

How expensive is it?
its average, the propertys are second highest to sydney of course. the rent can be cheap enough if you find a far person to rent from.

Is it safe?
its considerably safe in perth. not much crime compared to most cities. you just have to be street smart in some places, dont go showin offf flashy things in rough areas. you may get mugged. and in trains if there are gangs around you just have to make sure you sit in a area with alot of people.
there is a problems with gangs, burgulary is a problem, but only in some areas. and house partys and fights and street drinking and drug using. but this isnt a very big thing.

How is the weather?
considerably good. this year hasnt been all that. its summer and its raining at the moment. seasons can have odd weather sometimes, they can come upto 2 months earlier or late. usualy the summer is good. gets quiet hot though whihc is always good because of the fabolous nature created beaches.

Additional thoughts?
greta place to have a family. not a place to go if you want to be famous, that is of course in hollywood. greta beaches, great buys, beautiul country scenery and city views.
