What do you like about Sydney?

Friendly, multicultural society; very diverse (city and country living!); clean; pretty harbour; extremely advantaged in terms of development etc.

What do you dislike about Sydney?

Crraazzy unpredictable weather! It can be really nice in the morning, then change completely in the afternoon. Always bring a spare jacket! Expensive to live in...

What do you like about Sydney? Nice harbour, Opera House is a glorious building, attractive beaches, good rail network, pleasant winters, lots of trees and there's even bushland close to the CBD.

What do you dislike about Sydney? Wet and very humid weather in the warm half of the year, lots of aggressive and thoughtless people, terrible traffic, expensive transport and housing, not a lot of style, quite a lot of violence and social problems, not particularly intellectual, too \"flashy\", rather scruffy and unkempt compared to other Australian cities.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Kirribilli, Milsons Point, Lavender Bay - these are attractive suburbs with good cafes. Glebe and the areas nearby are funky and quite attractive with good cafes and bookshops.

How expensive is it? Transport and housing are prohibitive.

Is it safe? Quite a few parts are not very safe.

How is the weather? Nice in winter but much too humid from late spring through into autumn.
