What do you like about Redmond? The pace of the city is reliable and safe, contributing to its overall simplistic beauty. Everything is provided and laid out in a manner that manages to calm your nerves. You don't feel cramped between buildings and many trees have yet to give way to buildings, making it the perfect area for a nature-lover who still enjoys the comforts of good food, movies, and shopping.
What do you dislike about Redmond? The growing number of housing developments in the rural areas near Redmond threaten some of its natural landscaping.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Redmond Town Center, Bella Botega Theater
How expensive is it? As a part of King County, extremely expensive. Microsoft provides most jobs, but moving here with a job already is a much more stable idea.
Is it safe? Yes. Practically no crime at all.
How is the weather? Do not move here if you do not like rain. Also, do not move here if you enjoy seeing the sun for more than one season. Depression from not seeing the sun is supposedly widespread in winter. One third of the year will be cloudy, another third of the year it will be overcast, and the rest of the year consists of nice days, sometimes cold and sometimes hot, in Spring and Summer.
Additional thoughts? I adore living in one of the valleys close to Redmond, despite the fact that the population is very Caucasion. Expect to keep animals indoors (cougars, coyotes, etc.) and be wary of deer jumping out onto the road. In this area, nature is prominent in every aspect of life.
