Paris has a friendly, small town atmosphere with most amenities of a larger area.
While I lived there, it seemed too small, but it's, in my opinion, a great place to raise a family!
Paris has a cinema, bowling alley, historic downtown area, and good schools.
Living in Paris is fairly inexpensive, especially compared to living on the East Coast.
Most outer parts of Paris are relatively safe, but some of the inner-city neighborhoods might be cause for concern.
Weather is very temperate. It's said that in Paris, Autumn and Spring are 4 months each, and Winter and Summer are 2 months each.
