What do you like about Schenectady? Bus route goes straight to a big shopping area, so I can get all my errands done quick. Some nice small businesses.
What do you dislike about Schenectady? Often very rude strangers, angry drivers, smelly air often, dirty areas, not much to do compared to cities I have visited. You get bored quick.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Mohawk Commons, colonie center, crossgates (i live in schenectady but there isnt much so I go down the road to albany alot)
How expensive is it? If you want to live nice, very expensive. You can go cheap, but it isn't gonna be pretty.
Is it safe? Gets worse every year...
How is the weather? Cold winters, hot summers. Very unpredictable. One year minimal snow next year blizzards. The fall and spring are beautiful though.
Additional thoughts?
I've grown tired of it, but there are nice things nearby. It's like in the middle of the action. Albany nearby is fun, and NYC isn't impossibly far.
