1. What do you like about Muskegon?
The people and culture. The arts community is really quite vibrant, with great theater, a symphony orchestra, and some lovely small museums. And Pere Marquette is one of the most gorgeous beaches in the country. Add yummy lake perch and beer tents in the summer, what's not to love?
2. What do you dislike about Muskegon?
It's a blue collar town, which I enjoy, but it's developed a reputation as trashy. Some parts are, I grant you, but that is an unfair picture of the town as a whole.
3. What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
The Frauenthal and Beardsley Theaters, Pints & Quarts, Hackley Library, Party in the Park, and there are some fun dive bars "where everybody knows your name." Nauty's is my favorite.
4. How expensive is it?
Very reasonable. Again, blue collar, so nothing too fancy.
5. Is it safe?
6. How is the weather?
Nice in summer; we get tons of "lake effect" snow in winter. But no tornadoes, floods, hurricanes...I can't complain.
7. Additional thoughts?
There's no place like home. I heart "The Skee."

What do you like about Muskegon?
The art fair every summer. It has great music festivals in the downtown park. It's right on Lake Michigan.
What do you dislike about Muskegon?
Downtown is dead, but it's said it will be alive in 10 years or so, it's rather segregated.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Downtown still has a few nice blocks, Pierre Marquette beach, the Frauenthal Theatre.
How expensive is it?
Cheap as they're aren't many original resteraunt. We're a food-chain run city.
Is it safe?
Relatively if you stay in the right area.
How is the weather?
No real public transportation. Just a few buses and a joke of a taxi service.
