What do you like about Owensboro? Low cost of living. Relatively safe and calm. Pretty laid-back. Nice sports organizations. With the Western KY Uni campus moving here soon, the town should grow, which would definitely help overall growth and the economy.
What do you dislike about Owensboro? Very conservative. Slow to change. Not very diverse, but it's getting better.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Different parks to choose from, the riverfront. The Riverpark Center. Friday After 5 during the summer.
How expensive is it? Cheap, but there are a couple more upscale restaurants
Is it safe? There is a drug problem, but what cities don't have one? Overall, it feels pretty safe.
How is the weather? Humid, notably in the summer. You may be disappointed if you like a lot of snow, but we do get all four seasons.
Additional thoughts? I've grown up in nearly every part Owensboro and really wish there were more things to do (it has improved, though!). It's not the most stimulating place for teenagers, you have to make your own fun. However, once you get to know the people and interact with the community, it can be very rewarding.

What do you like about Owensboro? clean and cheap and friendly. Traffic is rarely a problem unless you are coming from a town smaller that Owensboro.
What do you dislike about Owensboro? Very slow. Way too conservative. The fore father's of the city did not think ahead and Owensboro has suffered greatly. Prime example there are no major interstates within 20-30 minutes of the city. And no major universities with in 30 minutes of Owensboro either. Which has made Bowling Greem Ky more and more the hub of Western Kentucky.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The parks along the river front
How expensive is it? VERY CHEAP
Is it safe? Relatively safe but there is a drug problem there
How is the weather? Owensboro gets all 4 seasons, but the Summer can be rough.
Additional thoughts? I grew up in Owensboro and I moved out as soon as I could.I truely respect the poeple who have stayed. Espeacilly, if they are of color.
