What do you like about Macon?
The southern spirit or hospitality is the only reason I am proud to be from Macon.
What do you dislike about Macon?
It is commonly stated that the public schools are bad and I would disagree with the other review of Macon in saying that the private schools are lovely.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
School, Sonic, and AmStar are all relatively safe places you can go with friends to have a meal of just hang out.
How expensive is it?
Not too expensive.
Is it safe?
No, the crime rates are outrageous. I live on the side of town that does not see much of this type of thing but word gets around about assault, murder, and rapes.
How is the weather?
Dreadful, I have lived here all fourteen years of my life and seen a real snow two times, one of which I was too young to remember. The spring and fall are hot and short lived along with a short winter. Which leaves the hottest summers on this side of hell to be long and harsh.
Additional thoughts?
I may have stretched the truth a bit in the heat of the moment (pun), but it is not a pleasant place to live, but a majority of the people are a pleasure to be around
