What do you like about Richmond? It's inexpensive but offers many of the perks of city living, albeit at often a lower caliber. Richmond is a beautiful city; it has one of the largest intact Victorian neighbourhoods in the country.
What do you dislike about Richmond? Still heavily segregated in parts of the city. Also, we were just ranked the 5th most dangerous city in the nation.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The Museum District is great; it's far enough away from the VCU campus to significantly dilute the student population but is still in biking distance. Plus, there's more grass, less crime, the museums, and Carytown.
How expensive is it? CHEAP
Is it safe? If you use common sense and stay in the good parts of town.
How is the weather? Summer is blazing hot and humid. Winter is cold and windy - no snow really, only ice. Spring and fall usually last about three weeks each.
Additional thoughts? It's a fun place to live, on a strictly temporary basis.
