Corpus Christi has utility rates twice that of anywhere in the world! In the summer between the Corpus Christi City utilities and the electricity bills you could buy a second home anywhere else. Just think, for the price of utilities you could buy ANOTHER HOME somewhere else!
Lots of corruption here and in Texas. Check out one of the energy companies TXU and insider trading. Who pays for this public fraud and corruption? You do if you live in places like this with your utilities.
Retired or looking to move to the sub belt? My advice is STAY CLEAR of Corpus Christi an Texas. You could pay for another home with the price of electricity alone!

What do you like about Corpus Christi? Nothing!
What do you dislike about Corpus Christi? Corpus Christi is the poster City for greed corruption and narcissism. The beach is like a redneck reunion. With people dumping their trash everywhere and driving pickup trucks on it day and night. The garbage isn\'t just isolated to the beach either. No matter where you go you see it blowing around. It has a couple health food stores but they\'re so overpriced they\'re not even worth going to. Most of the jobs are between 7 and $10 an hour without a college degree. Even with a college degree you\'d still be making half of what you would anywhere else. The homes are cheap but the humidity and Salt Air or so destructive that is not worth purchasing one. Apartments are overpriced. I was paying about $1,000 a month for a one-bedroom which is comprable to most other major cities. The difference is the ones here are the size of a postage stamp. Not to mention you\'re constantly battling cockroaches. Cultural Wise It\'s like everyone took a machismo pill. Drinking beer lifting weights and eating greasy ass food. Forget trying to get a decent night\'s sleep because they like to drive at 60 miles an hour down the side streets with their exhaust cut off and no headlights. Detroit Minneapolis and New York all have fewer potholes than this place. If you go cycling you might as well wear some antlers because someone will try to put you on the hood of their pickup truck. On the health-care front all the Urgent Cares have been bought up and changed into mini emergency rooms. So anytime you need an x-ray is probably going to run you about $1,000 or more. Most of the employers here don\'t seem to offer health insurance so it\'s all going to be out of pocket. In the last two years there\'s been a half-dozen times when you couldn\'t drink the water, and one time where they advise you not even to flush your toilet shower or anything. Corpus Christi is like the city that never tried. The best thing to do in Corpus Christi is save your money and look for a way out.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? None. There\'s a long list of carbon copy redneck bars. One bowling alley. One overpriced mall with kiosks every 5 ft. A beach covered in drunks and garbage. I wouldn\'t recommend anybody go to any of these places. they all suck
How expensive is it? Price-wise it is high compared to other parts of the country. But considering the Pay Here is half of anywhere else it is just horrible.
Is it safe? I\'ll just advise people not to leave anything in their vehicle.
How is the weather? It is hot and miserable. But the humidity is the year-round problem.
Additional thoughts? The best thing you can do in Corpus Christi is leave. This is a city with no redeeming qualities. The mentality here is just to let everything rot.
