What do you like about Pittsburgh?
What do you dislike about Pittsburgh?
It's a gross, dying city chalk full of crime. It also smells bad. The population consists of rednecks, crazy old people and snobby college kids who think it's cool to live in such a toilet. Most people here are dirt poor because the economy sucks.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
The entire region is filthy and poor. So I hate all of it.
How expensive is it?
Dirt cheap. Nobody here can afford any better.
Is it safe?
No. Lots of gang-related crime. There is also alot of random violent crime among whites. Pittsburghers are very confrontational.
How is the weather?
Every bit as lousy as the city. Pittsburgh was the inspiration for Gotham City from DC comics. The sun almost never shines here.
Additional thoughts?
Avoid this place. It's over-rated. The only people who say good things about it are idiots who live here and know no better. Most Pittsburghers never leave the city or state, so they have nothing to compare it to.

What do you like about Pittsburgh?

The people are courteous and willing to engage one another in conversation - most of the people living here are multi-generational i.e. my mom knows your mom - my grandfather was married to your great aunt - hey, that makes us cousins. We are a river and mountain people that live in the forest, trees and mountains, if you don't catch us on the water, from the air or the ground you can't see us - you have to turn a corner or go through a tunnel to find us.

What do you dislike about Pittsburgh?

Its greatest asset, second only to only its people, was particularly abused in the industrial revolution - - - while floating the American Dream, nightmares of pollution poured into our beautiful rivers - - - riverbank property was excised by railroads and steel mills - - - the communities along the rivers have been left to rust by politicians chasing expedient renewal - - - however the American Dream lives on and so does the hope of Pittsburghers - we have so much to give - we are a transformed center of research education - law, finance, technology, medicine, philanthropy and more - - - yet, what I don't like is that while we set the tone for middle America, we have leaders that look elsewhere for signs of life. I pray my regional leaders turn their eyes home - like a lonely wife and family of kids wondering why Dad is always traveling - we need attention more than money.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?

The Southside and the strip district are unique experiences, however Pittsburgh is modular - made up of hundreds of autonomous neighborhoods - business, residential, and restaurant districts - a person can have a defining experience anywhere in the Pittsburgh area.

How expensive is it?
Pittsburgh is the best buy in the United States.
Is it safe?
I have never been robbed, mugged, shot, dismembered, or assaulted. I am pretty sure a few bartenders have clipped me on occasion - but I can't be sure it was on purpose - the steers were on TV and the bar was extremely busy.
How is the weather?
The weather has always been recorded as moderate and unpredictably different from year to year - however as of late, Pittsburgh appears to be climatically benefiting from global warming - - - our winter's are a few degrees warmer -which has extended spring and fall - my two favorite seasons.

Additional thoughts?,
Come visit. Ask a stranger for directions (you can't find your way around otherwise), and don't be surprised if the stranger invites you home for dinner to meet the family.
