What do you like about Eugene?
What do you dislike about Eugene?
Eugene is a great place to just be yourself, unless hippies happen to disagree with your lifestyle. They tend to hang out here a lot, as it was a pretty big draw. There\'s a lot of infighting, but overall, the city is very calm. Most middle-class areas are exclusionary and not very neighborly, but lower-middle-class and lower-class neighborhoods have some of the best, friendliest communities I\'ve experienced. Great music and arts scenes, but they tend to be cliquish. Theater is year-round but expensive and not a working business.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Downtown, West University, Whitaker. I generally avoid Bethel and East University.

How expensive is it?
Housing in Eugene is ridiculously expensive. It\'s cheaper than most inane suburbs and San Francisco, but that\'s about it. There\'s no sales tax in Oregon, so the government gets most of its money from property and income taxing. Don\'t come here if you like your money too much.

Is it safe?
It is very safe, but not as safe as Canada. I\'d choose Eugene over any major city in the US, though. Except Seattle.

How is the weather?
Rainy, but moderate. Warmish in the summer, coldish in the winter, rarely above 100 F or below freezing.

Additional thoughts?
Nope.
