What do you like about Staten Island?
It has a mall that's OK.

What do you dislike about Staten Island?

You pay $13 to escape.
You take a ferry to escape.
You have to commute for 2+ hours if you go to a decent CUNY.
Has all the disadvantages of a suburb (urban sprawl, boredom, needing a car) without any of the benefits (living close to very obnoxious people).
Live North and you've got crime (which has improved but still). Live South and you've got rednecks.
You live on top of landfill.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
The mall...yeah....Staten Island is awesome.
How expensive is it?
This is how they get you to live in this cesspool. At first its cheap (cheapest rent and housing prices), but then you find out that the transit sucks, you need a car, little competition for grocery shopping (pretty much Shoprite or Stop-n-Shop.
Is it safe?
How is the weather?
