What do you like about Albuquerque? The food and the sky. Albuquerque has great sunsets!
What do you dislike about Albuquerque? The people in Albuquerque are not very friendly. The men are not gentlemanly at all and sometimes you have to be afraid of who you look at because they may shoot at you.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I used to love the UNM area and Nob Hill, there are some great restaurants and you may run into someone who is more educated and interested in other parts of the world. They have been trying to renevate downtown and it seems to be coming along well.
How expensive is it? Rediculously expensive for what you get. This city of maybe 500,000 people doesn't have much to offer as far as entertainment and the prices for housing are right up there with larger cities like Denver or Pheonix.
Is it safe? It is definitely not the safest place to live! Like I said earlier if you do not look at anyone you may not get shot at.
How is the weather? Summer is HOT and into the high 90's and low 100's with low humidity. Fall is great. Winter is pretty mild with maybe 2 snows during the season (though they never stick and are melted by next day!). Spring is nice too.
Additional thoughts? Albuqerque could be a nice city if they put a little money into bigger things like maybe some sporting events or just tried to educate their people better. I wish that you didn't have to pay a premium to live in a small town like city with nothing to offer but a pretty sky and dangerous neighborhoods.

This city was the biggest mistake of my life. It was interesting to take the Geographic test and it suggest this place for me. I grew up in Sonoma, CA (wine country) and nothing compares to the feelings i have here. Albuquerque was dull, boring, and there was nothing but the average cliche of an alcoholic or meth addict. No one had any ambition, aspirations, DREAMS. The only thing that kept me there was i was a preschool teacher and i become very attatched to my students. The cost of living there was convienient but just goes to show a new meaning to "dirt cheap". The crime rate is insane with everyday a drunk driver crash or a bank robbery or a meth lab. The weather there is a little bit more favorable during monsoon season and summer. I like the intensity of the sunshine. BUT THERE IS NO OCEAN AND GROWING UP IN CALIFORNIA I HAVE TO HAVE AN OCEAN. This city is for the sake of saying so a realistic hell. Where dirt goes to be punished in the next life.
