What do you like about Las Vegas? Lots to do, a great deal of professional opportunity, you can buy alcohol whenever you want, very liberal, no state tax.

What do you dislike about Las Vegas? Hella shallow, really fast paced, alot of crime, really bad drivers, people are not very nice, not sufficent funds for state infrastructure due to no state taxes (they can't even afford an appealate court here).

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Red Rock, Valley of fire, Mt. Charleston area (I'm an outdoors kind of guy), Downtown is pretty cool once in a while.

How expensive is it? Pretty damn expensive. Not all the way up there but getting close.

Is it safe? This is one of the most violent places I've ever been to. I've lived in or near Seattle WA, Vancouver BC, Pensacola FL, Upstate NY. This place beats them all.

How is the weather? For me, too dry although I can handle the heat. Though, with out the dryness the heat would be incredibly oppressive.

Climate: I like trees and foliage so this place is less ideal. Being able to see rocks instead of plants everywhere is, often times, very pretty.

Additional thoughts? Frankly, I think it sucks but I am getting used to it. I've been here only a year but I am moving back to Seattle when I get out of school. To all the real locals, don't worry about me moving here and driving up the price of everything. I'm outta here soon anyway.

What do you like about Las Vegas? Tourists are fun, lots of buffets, lots of casinos, lots of stores, Mount Charleston, Lake Mead
What do you dislike about Las Vegas? Buses could be better, residential hotel living is disappearing from downtown area, people who complain about the city (they probably lost a lot of money gambling)
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The Strip, downtown, favorite casinos (Mandalay, Monte Carlo, Tropicana, Treasure Island)
How expensive is it? Not too expensive, shop around and you\'ll find a house you\'ll like, affordable apartments
Is it safe? Very safe, Northtown not too cool and East Fremont sucks, but in most areas, a great city to live in and raise a family.
How is the weather? Very hot! It can be over-bearing, and even dangerous - ALWAYS CARRY LOTS OF WATER IN THE SUMMER! Passing out from the heat is all too common. Winters will get down to 30 degrees and sometime even 25, but winter is very short here.
Additional thoughts? Vegas is great! It\'s one of my fave cities. If you don\'t mind the 115-degree days in summer (they are ocassional, not constant... 108 is the average hottest temp.), then you may love it here. Las Vegas is a super city! ENJOY!
