What do you like about Minneapolis? It's a small town culture captured in a big city.
What do you dislike about Minneapolis? People tend to hang out with the same people they hung out with in high school. Not very open to new people.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Great place on Lyndale and around the lakes in Uptown, Northeast is very cool -- the Modern, Psycho Suzie's, etc. St. Paul is full of awesome finds like Art Scraps, the Nook, and Turf Club.
How expensive is it? Cheapo, but depends on your lifestyle.
Is it safe? No pepper spray needed
How is the weather? Horrible winters, but I've never seen such complete love of summers. Art Car Parades, block parties, movies and music at the Walker, canoeing in Uptown, etc.
Additional thoughts? You have to be outgoing to move here and don't expect to make friends quickly, but once you do, they'll love you for life. Terrible public transportation. Very compasionate culture. Minnesota Public radio and The Current are wonderful. Good mix of colleges. Great public green spaces.

What do you like about Minneapolis? It has a GORGOUS skyline and theres always something to do within the city or just outside of it. The lightrail is also pretty kool and pub trans is decent.

What do you dislike about Minneapolis? WINTERS SUCK and summers get super humid some times.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Nicollet Mall is always a great place to hang or eat at and Dinkytown is always a good time, and in St. Paul Grand Ave. is super fun to hang out at. And just south you have the Mall of America and south of the river theres Burnsville w/ the B~Ville Center and Buck Hill.

How expensive is it? It's not too bad, but it could be cheaper

Is it safe? Well if you just watch the news all you hear about is crime, but once you get out there in to the city its really not that bad, but it couldn't hurt to have some pepper spray with you.

How is the weather?Winter gets to be way to cold sometimes and summer is super humid, but spring and fall are amazingly awesome, but if you hate the weather theres always the skyway system to go to.
Additional thoughts?Minnepolis is one of the most beautiful cities ive ever seen(and ive traveled all over the US) and St. Paul rocks too. Its a great place to live and its quite open minded and always has something going on.
