What do you like about Minneapolis? Great music, theatre, and arts scenes. And even though people are seem reserved, there's usually not much tension on the streets.
What do you dislike about Minneapolis? Winter. Simple enough.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Dinkytown, Cedar-Riverside, Uptown.
How expensive is it? Moderate. Rent is affordable (for now)
Is it safe? Most places, though the police are short-staffed.
How is the weather? Bipolar.
Additional thoughts?

What do you like about Minneapolis? You get the feeling of being in a city, but without feeling overly rushed, crowded, or unsafe. The public transportation doesn't totally suck, I've been surviving without a car. The skyline and the lakes are beautiful. It's a great mix of big city culture and nature. There is pretty decent sense of community. Sometimes it feels like a small part of the Northwest coast in the midwest, to me anyway.

What do you dislike about Minneapolis? For being a big city, it can sometimes feel pretty small once you get to know it. I don't have a car, so I hate it when people want me to go out to the suburbs.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I live in Uptown and love it here. I love being by the lakes. Uptown, Downtown, Dinkytown, Northeast...

How expensive is it? It's not bad, fairly reasonable, especially compared to other "big cities".

Is it safe? Very safe, as long as you know what parts of town to stay away from. I've never been in a situation where I've felt uncomfortable.

How is the weather? Well, it's in Minnesota, so the winters are horribly long and cold. The summer is too hot for me, but I know some people like that. I can't get enough of the springs/falls here, but they're too short.

Additional thoughts? I adore Minneapolis. People are (generally) trying to be friendly to each other and the earth. Decent music scene. There's just a lot of great things here.
