What do you like about Ann Arbor?
Lots of culture and intellectual things to do. Museums, Libraries, Parks, and a nice downtown that has cafes to sit in and read.
What do you dislike about Ann Arbor?
I grew up there and needed to leave for awhile, but generally it is a great place for families and kids. People who move there have a tendency to stay because it is a nice small city.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
State and Liberty, South U, and generally anyplace downtown. I like the Arboretum and Gallup Park too. The river makes a nice focus for all the green stuff in the city.
How expensive is it?
Housing is too expensive because it has become a really popular place to go, and because of the students. Generally though other stuff is about the same as anywhere else, and there is more selection of novelty foods and good books and stuff than in most places in Michigan.
Is it safe?
It is safe, but I worry a little about the drunk frat-boys. I'm from a neighborhood that is pretty far from the center, and there used to be more problems there with drugs and stuff.
How is the weather?
COLD in winter, long winter... hot in the summer, but usually only a week or two of insustainable heat. Spring and Fall are my favorites.
Additional thoughts?
I can see myself going back, but having got used to cities with more public transportation (although a2 for a city of its size has great transport too) I think I'd feel frustrated trying to live there again, especially outside the center.

What do you like about Ann Arbor?
Ann Arbor is the melting pot of MI, the people are nice, many cool places to eat, lots to do, great school system, the people are artistic and intelligent for the most part, and Hill Auditorium is awesome (especially when you play an instrument there)!
What do you dislike about Ann Arbor?
It is crowded especially in September when the students return so traffic is a mess! Crime rates go back up with the return of the students, the art fair is cool but it also makes parking hard in the downtown area near impossible.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Downtown... is AWESOME! There is so much to do.
How expensive is it?
The housing is expensive and the taxes are higher than in Ypsilanti.
Is it safe?
Yeah for the most part. Small crimes are common.
How is the weather?
The Weather changes a lot... it can be sunny one minute and raining the next.
Additional thoughts?
A great city!
