What do you like about Flint? It's diverse and it seems like the city is making a good effort to improve. There's a few clubs around (Flint Local, Machine Shop, etc) with live music. Business owners are pretty friendly. I think I would rather live here than the richer cities like Grand Blanc because the right next to decaying, abandoned buildings are new businesses and growth. It's interesting to see the city change.

What do you dislike about Flint? Some parts are very run down and neglected. The abandoned houses and businesses are pretty depressing. There aren't a whole lot of places to eat around the UM campus and it doesn't feel very safe in most parts.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The UM campus is nice in the spring/summer and there's plenty of stores to shop on Miller Rd.

How expensive is it? Housing seems pretty cheap, but finding a well paying job here might be hard. The economy appears to be struggling here.

Is it safe? I don't think I would feel safe walking the streets at night, but I haven't ever been worried for my safety. I like that the citizens are involved with helping improve the city.

How is the weather? Typical of most parts in mid/southern Michigan. Humid and muggy summers, pleasant autumns, stormy springs, and sometimes bitter and nasty winters.

Additional thoughts? We're rooting for you, Flint!
