High real estate costs, gentrification.

Fairly expensive, but with more pockets of affordable compared to surrounding areas.

Fairly safe, but its still a city.
How is the weather?
Extremely New England (hot/cold/now what?!). And raining like the plague the last few years.
After living in the Boston area in various locales for 12 years, and visiting countless other cities, could not imagine moving to the Boston side of the river again. Would take up residence in a like-minded, similarly intimate place like Providence or Portland, Or, or pockets in the Bay Area first.
