What do you like about Boston?
It's a very smart city. There's lots and lots of history. It's in a wonderful location for day trips with a huge emphasis on being outdoorsy. It's family-friendly.

What do you dislike about Boston?
Because of its history, lots of the ways and traditions and engrained in people's heads. Bostonians are very concerned with keeping the status quo. It's very expensive to live here. It's a hard city to move to, socially speaking, if you're in between college and marraige.

This isn't a city where the diverse elements mix, if that's important to you.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? All of New England is at your door step.

How expensive is it? VERY VERY 'expensive

Is it safe? Mostly.
How is the weather? If you don't mind it cold, the weaather here is the best in the country. Probably only a week or two or extreme heat, a month or so of frigid cold, and the rest is great.

Additional thoughts?

What do you like about Boston? Diversity, Academic opportunities, Architecture, Independent film scene, Almost every attraction within city limits is walking distance if you're active.

What do you dislike about Boston? Irish- Catholic dickheads, Some people come off as uptight, MBTA needs work, The Police. Also, it sometimes feels like theres not a lot to do if you're under 21 (and the city does shut down early).

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Harvard Square (Cambridge), Davis Square (Somerville), Back Bay.

How expensive is it? Housing is expensive, but you can live for relatively cheap if you look around.

Is it safe? Yes, provided you don't go off the beaten path (i.e. stay out of Roxbury, Mattapan, parts of Dorchester).

How is the weather? Constantly changing, Winters can be a bit harsh.

Additional thoughts? Boston is a great city to live in, despite the presence of some types of people that you'll find in any city really.
