What do you like about Boston?
It's a very smart city. There's lots and lots of history. It's in a wonderful location for day trips with a huge emphasis on being outdoorsy. It's family-friendly.

What do you dislike about Boston?
Because of its history, lots of the ways and traditions and engrained in people's heads. Bostonians are very concerned with keeping the status quo. It's very expensive to live here. It's a hard city to move to, socially speaking, if you're in between college and marraige.

This isn't a city where the diverse elements mix, if that's important to you.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? All of New England is at your door step.

How expensive is it? VERY VERY 'expensive

Is it safe? Mostly.
How is the weather? If you don't mind it cold, the weaather here is the best in the country. Probably only a week or two or extreme heat, a month or so of frigid cold, and the rest is great.

What do you like about Boston?
I like beginnings of the summer that are not too humid. Also that people cannot smoke indoors anymore

What do you dislike about Boston?
I dislike the common attitude of "who is your daddy and what does he do?", the constant onslaught of stereotypes about anyone who is different, the lack of different cultures, identities, or ideas, as well as the lack of thinking outside the box, going against the grain, and walking off the beaten path. I also can't stand the winters, the snow, and that there is no place to go while under 21. Also, everything closes at 6pm, and the only social activities that are acceptable or available to people are to go drinking, either at the club, or the pub. That is your diversity: Club Dancing, or Sports Pub. I also don't like that "vegetarian/vegan" is practically unheard of.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
In Somerville at Diesel Cafe or at friend's homes.

How expensive is it?
Very. To drive it's very expensive, and finding a gas station downtown is impossible, and to use public transit is just as costly. Expect to pay $5-15 on transit, $15-25 on dinner, and shopping is ridiculous.

Is it safe?
Do you consider drunk men clamoring out of sports bars, all excited from the game to be safe for women?

How is the weather?
Cold from October - April, warm in May-June, Hot and Humid from June-September.

Additional thoughts?
For being a "college" town, I have yet to meet more than a handful of interesting philosophical people who know that there is more to life than GPA or salary. Sadly enough, I had make these connections online through Tribe.net, and then meet them at events in person.
