What do you like about Lexington-Fayette? Nothing.
What do you dislike about Lexington-Fayette?
It's dead, no life. Everyone's nice, sure, but it has nothing to offer. If you want to be a lifeless drug addict with no aspirations, I'm sure you'd love it.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
There isn't much. The Rupp Arena is all. Keenland's all it's known for, though.
How expensive is it?
There's a plus. Things aren't that expensive. But there aren't enough careers that are of use to living in Kentucky, so how do you get the money? And what's is for? Horse food?
Is it safe?
The occasional robbery. But most people are nice with good morals and sunny dispositions.
How is the weather? It's tempid enough, I guess. It's very variable, but overall pretty stable.
It's not my place to be. If you like traditional smalltown's with no incentive to change and even less to experience, you might like it. The only people in the city that like it, though, are people who haven't been anywhere else, or people who don't generally enjoy vivacity.

What do you like about Lexington-Fayette? Lots of ethnic restaurants (lebanese, real mexican, thai, el salvador, ethiopian, italian, cajun, french, sushi/japanese, chinese, german, vegetarian...) and artistic happenings. Lots of libraries, bookstores, music, an indie cinema, the Kentucky Theatre, tons of normal cinemas, places to buy organic food and farmers markets. I live close to a school that is a spanish immersion program, there are cheap contra dancing lessons on fridays, and there is always a good art show or music event somewhere, you just have to look!
What do you dislike about Lexington-Fayette? Traffic probably, but that's to be expected with so many universities!
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? All over, those things I mentioned are spread out a bit. Downtown is pretty, woodland park is nice, the city is very clean.
How expensive is it? Not particularly depending on where you live, it's a bit inflated in town (where i live) because a lot of the buildings are historical and beautiful and mainly because the college students prefer to be close to campus (like me :)).
Is it safe? I feel very safe here, there are occasional problems like anywhere, but I'm not afraid to walk home alone from my late classes or anything.
How is the weather? Humid in the summer, nice in the spring and fall, and snowy, rainy and icy in the winter.
Additional thoughts? I'm a grad student at UK and what I like in a city is art, beautiful buildings and ethnic food. Its by no means a large city, but for what it is, its packed with great things.
