What do you like about Tampa? Its very commercial and is steadily becoming a metropolis. The Current boom in condos and other big corporations moves here have caused the skyline to expand. The area has a variety of cultures, similar to that of Miami's full of Cubans and Hatians everywhere. The nightlife is improving and there is starting to actually ALWAYS be something to do in this city that used to be considered a B-list place to visit. The waterfront and Channelside area is beautiful, as well it's rich history. And its clean.
What do you dislike about Tampa?Well with the condo boom and the highways expanding day to day, soon this place will be another Miami in about 10 yrs. or so. Gone will be the days that Tampa was a big city with a small town charm.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?Ybor city, Channelside, Downtown, New Tampa, and well everywhere really.

How expensive is it?Really expensive. Soon to be worse after they finish with the boom in population.
Is it safe? Fairly safe.
How is the weather?Gorgeous
Additional thoughts?
Tampa is definitly a city on the rise, more and more nationally you here of this place, and it shows in the area.

What do you like about Tampa? The weather is excellent. A lot of sunshine and very nice warm "winter" weather. Hot and humid in the summer but no more than the NE cities, just a month or two longer duration. The Gulf and beaches are also quite nice-----blue/green water, white fine sand beaches in Clearwater. Tampa is excellent if you desire to be outdoors and don't mind some summer heat.
What do you dislike about Tampa? A lot. Especially if you are from a major city. Tampa is a very unsophisticated, boring city. They barely sellout the 16,000 seats for a Bocelli concert but the 50,000 seats for The Monster Truck Mud Jam are gone in an instant. With the exception of a few nice places in Tampa, if you wear a sport coat, you will likely be asked if you are coming from a wedding. LOL!!
Pick up trucks, tattoos, baseball caps on sideways, sneakers, lite beer, titty bars, an occasional confederate flag flying from a truck and culturally void----that's Tampa. The majority of the Tampa population is from small mid western cities and from the south....pardon me but I must say--- it is a "redneck" city for the most part. They have and are attempting to develop then "downtown" area but a trendy, sophisticated type of development has been ,and likely will continue to be VERY difficult. The population of Tampa is very untrendy and VERY unsophisticated and that's why they have had problems. Downtown is dead for the most part with the exception of a couple of nitelife areas.....but they have had problems controlling the behavior. Downtown St Pete is a very welcome exception. Very nicely developed, a few museums, many outdoor restaurants that draws mostly the big city relos that want at least a little bit of sophistication.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? South Tampa is a very nice residential area.
How expensive is it? moderate
Is it safe? varies
How is the weather? excellent
Additional thoughts? If you are from a major, Tier "A" city, you will be bored to death.
