What do you like about Daytona? Love the winter weather, going over the beautiful bridges, old and new, driving down to Ponce Inlet and the jetty on a foggy February day.
What do you dislike about Daytona? Race track tacky stuff. I have a love/hate relationship with the flea market as it's pretty scummy with interesting, hard to find items.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I like to walk on the beach, drive along the loop, go to a resort for drinks and hors d'ouevres, take a pontoon boat up spruce creek, go to the old downtown core, go to the BBQ restaurants, explore sugar mill gardens.
How expensive is it? Not very.
Is it safe? Has some places you need to be careful of, like most towns it's size.
How is the weather? Fall, Winter and Spring are beautiful. Summer, uh, not so much.
Additional thoughts? Speak with a local re what you should go see/do, best place to live. Don't expect a bunch of swaying palm trees - they are native to southern Florida. Not as many orange trees as their used to be. Upmarket shopping is in Orlando, Jacksonville, West Palm.

What do you like about Daytona? -It's my home.
What do you dislike about Daytona? -It's corrupt, overrun by the older crowd. The city only caters to tourists that bring in a lot of money. Poverty is the most common way of life. There is little support for young adult entertainment, arts and culture are only enjoyed by the upper class.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? -Friend's homes, sometimes the beach and the parks.
How expensive is it? -It varies, but cheaper than most other highly popluated regions.
Is it safe? -Mostly, but we have incidents.
How is the weather? -Fickle.
Additional thoughts? -Everything this town had going for it is being bought up for casinos and condominiums, the latter of which we have PLENTY of.
