What do you like about Washington DC? The big city feel, even if it's not my favorite big city
What do you dislike about Washington DC? The way everything is spread out and seems rather...suburban.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? I used to live in Ashburn, near DC, so I hung out there. I hate the natural history museum and all the memorials though. Don't go there.
How expensive is it? I wouldn't know
Is it safe? Possibly
How is the weather? Average
Additional thoughts? nope...

What do you like about Washington DC? Great ethnic food, lots of free museums, movie fests, festivals, great ethnic food, intellectual crowd.
What do you dislike about Washington DC? Everyone works so hard that everyone else tries to work harder in an endless loop of promotion. It is also transient. People come, but leave; sadly the liberals go to the West Coast.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Adams Morgan (which was Little Eithopia and now a bit yuppified, but good bars and food.)
How expensive is it? Very.
Is it safe? It is pretty safe, except south east and the capitol area on foot at night and that is much improved.
How is the weather? Hot and humid in the summer. Cold and windy in the winter, but you get all four seasons and Fall and Spring are very nice.
Additional thoughts? If you're into culture, DC is a great place with lots and lots of freebees, but it costs a lot to get housing since the real estate boom of 1999 - 2005.
