What do you like about Washington DC?
Variety of people, ability to go hiking by day clubbing by night. Summer! All the free activities - screen on the green, shakespeare in the park, museums, govt. bldg tours

What do you dislike about Washington DC?
people aren't as friendly here. It can be hard to meet new people b/c people don't talk to strangers.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?

Live - Eckington, Brookland - affordable, close to everything yet residential and quiet.
Hang out - Adam's Morgan, downtown, Capitol Hill/Eastern Market, Dupont Circle, Arlington, VA

How expensive is it? It's not as expensive as Osaka, Japan. DC is expensive but salaries are higher than other places...

Is it safe? depending on who you are, where you are, when you're there... DC has contained crime. 1 block will be horrible, no matter what the quadrant, but it doesn't trickle onto neighboring blocks.

How is the weather? all season's but winter are great.

Additional thoughts? There is a lot of affordable housing here however you have to be willing to move out of Georgetown and out of NW. Try SW or NE.

What do you like about Washington DC? Gay sex in the gym with Ari Fleischer. Pupusas. The Tune Inn. Eastern Market. George Pelecanos. Clinton Portis. Levante's. Each Safeway has a special name.
What do you dislike about Washington DC? Taxation without representation. Tony Williams. Zone parking permits. Almost rear-ending some dude from Ohio who just realized there are 2 different 6th Streets and he's on the wrong one. Random taxi fares. No food on the Metro. Laughable "Home Rule."
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Dupont, Capitol Hill, Tenleytown.
How expensive is it? Pretty bad.
Is it safe? If you stay where you're supposed to, whiteboy.
How is the weather? Craptastic.
