What do you like about San Jose? The proximity to many things--Easy to get to the ocean, San Francisco, Tahoe, etc. San Jose Sharks, Oakland A's, Giants, 49ers and Raiders are within reach for a game.
What do you dislike about San Jose? Traffic, the cost, the uppity and 'better-than-thou' that can hit the area.
How expensive is it? Very.
Is it safe? Depends on where you are
How is the weather? Great if you like it mild
Additional thoughts? San Jose is quite big, so is VERY varied. You have very monied sectors, older and poorer areas, and a variety of ethnic sub-sections depending on where you go. South Bay can be VERY status-oriented--way too many high-end SUVs and noses in the air... meet too many people who like what they like because it's trendy.
