What do you like about San Francisco? Variety! Lot's of different kinds of people and things to do. Lots of culture!
What do you dislike about San Francisco? It's so comfortable and accepting here, that you tend to go with the flow and not accomplish anything. There are also too many distractions.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The Lower Haight, The Mission, North of the Panhandle & Western Addition, The Tenderloin
How expensive is it? Insanely
Is it safe? That depends on who you are, where you are, and what you're doing. Crime happens everywhere, but being aware of your surroundings and projecting the right attitude can work wonders.
How is the weather? A little cloudy and windy for me. We have a mild summer August-October, frequent fog the rest of the time. The cleanest air in the bay area.
Additional thoughts? Asthetically beautiful, something for everyone, casual socially, you don't need a car here, not for the intollerant or closterphobic.

What do you like about San Francisco?
Natural beauty, perfect climate, great place to stay active, cheap local produce year round, there's always something going on.

What do you dislike about San Francisco?
Everything is way overpriced, people are snobby about everything (especially coffee & political beliefs), people have found unique ways to shove their heads farther up their arses than anywhere else I've ever been (lots of "space cadets" and eyes constantly glued to phones), stuff closes very early for a city this size (often before 2 even on weekends), asian invasion (I'm not racists, but careful on the roads!)

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Inner Sunset, Portrero Hill, Fillmore

How expensive is it?
Very expensive, a decent pizza will cost you $40 and good luck finding it in your neighborhood.

Is it safe?
Yes, very for a city this size. I guess street people are too high or too busy telling you not to have sex before marriage to try to rob you.

How is the weather?
60 all the time, sometimes a bit lower, higher. Perfect for me, Mediterranean climate. West side is foggy, east side is sunny.

SF is more of a hybrid city/suburb. Downtown is dense, but much of the city is filled with single family homes with yards, garages, etc. There is a distinct culture opposing development even though housing is clearly in high demand. People seem to be "fake friendly" (they'll chat with you, be nice, but aren't genuine, and quick to tell you why your political beliefs are wrong) P.S. I'm socially very liberal, and fiscally more conservative
