What do you like about Los Angeles? Los Angeles is a diverse city full of life, culture and activities.
What do you dislike about Los Angeles? Because of the above things that I like, LA is also non-stop, overcrowded, hypercompetitive, expensive and not well suited for middle income families.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Los Feliz, Griffith Park, my house
How expensive is it? Very, especially homeowners, earthquake and auto insurance.
Is it safe? Depends on where you are. Los Feliz where I live is relatively safe, North Hollywood, where I work is not nearly as safe.
How is the weather? Very sunny, I pray for rain.
Additional thoughts? I think Los Angeles is ideal for young adults looking for ample employment and shared housing. I do not think it is a good city for middle to middle high income families. It is a struggle to make take advantage of all of the wonderful things LA has to offer when you are stuck in the car over an hour and a half each day or activities cost an arm and a leg.

What do you like about Los Angeles? Palm trees, the beach, the weather, the diversity, wildness, shopping, lots to do, great restaurants
What do you dislike about Los Angeles? The traffic really is terrible, the place lacks any big city feel like that of sf, chicago, nyc, etc, its very hard to get around (you absolutely need a car) earthquakes, fires, mudslides, smog, "fake" people, touristyness in some parts, parts of summer are terrible hot (but you really cant complain) atmosphere can be really tense
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? venice beach, will rogers beach (any beach) century city, santa monica (third street promenade)
How expensive is it? really bad
Is it safe? just be smart
How is the weather? perfect!
Additional thoughts? Los Angeles can be really fun, but it helps to have lots of money, but seriously, this city can work for some people and miss for others
