Tucson is very conservative, backwards, drug-infested, dirty, and hot beyond belief in the summer. The road system is horrible, and maybe this is because of the desert air, but people here behave in a very lethargic, zombie-like manner. You either love or hate Tucson. I happen to be in the latter catgeory, and am leaving.

What do you like about Tucson?
It's physically beautiful, surrounded by mountains with great sunsetsand from about October to May it has great weather, especially to enjoy healthy living outdoors.
What do you dislike about Tucson?
It has a small town feel with not a lot to do, not very cultured or educated people. There is also still a lot of racism and prejudice.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
I love to go eat and hang out on fourth avenue and around the University of Arizona. The neighboorhoods around Tucson High are cute as well as around Reid Park and the zoo.
How expensive is it?
The cost of living is very inexpensive, however the very low wages make living in Tucson equitable to more expensive places where people earn more money.
Is it safe?
There is not a lot of random violence, but there are many prominent gangs around the city. Drug traffic is prevalent as well as property theft, such as cars, bikes, etc. because of the town's close proximity to Mexico.
How is the weather?
The weather is unbearable from May to about midway through September, reaching temperatures easily over 100 and 110 in the summer. However it is a dry heat which makes it a little better. It is absolutely gorgeous in the winter, mostly with temperatures in the 60. I wear my sandals year round, let's say that.
Additional thoughts?
Don't move a teenager here from a big city because they will not be entertained nor will they receive a good education. Note that Arizona was named the nation's 49th most uneducated state.
