The beaches are nice. But the simple reality of it is it\'s a very dirty trash everywhere City, the city makes no effort to try and clean it up or bring in more business to bring the area up. If I had known this before I moved here I wouldn\'t have.

What do you like about Mobile? The downtown area reminds of New Orleans (only much cleaner) and generally, it's a beautiful city--lots of greenery, beautiful homes. Very close to the beach.
What do you dislike about Mobile? The people. Racist, homophobic, and arrogant. Also, I have yet to experience good ol' Southern hospitality here. I was born and raised in the south (Louisiana) and these people just aren't nearly as friendly and outgoing as what I'm used to. Traffic here sucks, too.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? Downtown, the park by the Museum of Art (don't know the name).
How expensive is it? It isn't--but don't expect to find a decent paying job either.
Is it safe? Well, my boyfriend's car was broken into twice in less than one year . . .
How is the weather? Um, apparently (according to the locals) Mobile gets more rain than any other city in America after Seattle. Wish I'd known that before I moved here.
Additional thoughts? Great if you're a conservative Christian (duh, it's Alabama). If not, forget it.
