What do you like about Hamilton?
I love the West End... anywhere from Locke St to MacMaster University. The downtown is ok... shopping is terrible though, library is great, and NO nitelife or art culture at all. The mountain is ok... until you get past Mohawk... way to many houses look alike.. with little or no character whatsoever.
What do you dislike about Hamilton?
WAAYYY to many low income or housing projects... and the homeless population seems really high
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Westdale, Locke Street South and sometimes in the downtown core..
How expensive is it?
not too expensive... that's why I live in Hamilton... and I work in Toronto.
Is it safe?
Overall I feel it is safe.... YES
How is the weather?
Weather is normal
Additional thoughts?
Overall I do like hamilton... but if I wasn't living in the Locke Street area I probably wouldn't be living in Hamilton.

What do you like about Hamilton?
i love the green spaces, the conservation areas and the terrific hiking trails and bike trails. i love the fact that it's a smaller city with niagra-on-the-lake and stratford nearby with some of the best theatre in the country. i love the new artists area in the north end at james street. the gallery 'crawls' are great. there's so much musical acitvity likethe 'chamber music hamilton' series and the summer boris brott series. the summer day camps at mcmaster university are excellent for kids up to age 15- sports, courses and computers/engineering are all available so that the kids get to see real labs and great sports equipment and instruction.
What do you dislike about Hamilton?
i dislike the fact that the poverty level is high and that the other municipalities don't do their full share. this forces hamilton to provide services and oakville can 'export'.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
westdale and locke street
How expensive is it?
highly affordable
Is it safe?
very - i've lived in toronto and montreal

getting milder - hmmmm
Additional thoughts?
