What do you like about Winnipeg?
It is basically a very large small town, which is both good and bad. To be honest i plan to move as soon as I graduate. The large amount of Seven Elevens is good? And the exchange is fun. Also we have good festivals, like folk fest, fringe and folklorama.
What do you dislike about Winnipeg?
I effing hate the transit system. Our small population cannot sustain a decent system so taking transit takes forever. Quite inconvenient. I just am not a fan of Winnipeg, no one ever leaves. It's like a small town in that respect.
What are your favourite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Osbourne Village is pretty good, as is the area around the WAG and the Exchange, but only during the day. Other than that you need to use your imagination.
How expensive is it?
Not too bad, fairly cheap actually. Compared to other places, for sure.
Is it safe?
Well I mean is any city safe? As long as you're smart and don't go walking around the north end or downtown at night you'll be fine.
How is the weather?
Jesus Christ. Most of the year is 40 below, absolutely freezing and with snow up to your hips. Then bam, suddenly it is blisteringly hot for two months, then back to winter. Overall, it's always windy.
Additional thoughts?
Winnipeg is not that bad. It's not perfect, but hey, it is a lot better than some places. There's a lot of vegetation throughout the city, since we're so spread out. Not a bad place.

What do you like about Winnipeg? Large arts community. Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Museums Assiniboine Park and Zoo. Great restaurants. Festivals. Friendly, welcoming people.
What do you dislike about Winnipeg?
Racism towards First Nations people/non-English speaking immigrants. The winter. Extremely bad drivers.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Osbourne Village, The Forks, The Exchange District, St. James.
How expensive is it?
Is it safe?
Not in the North End. As with every city be careful at night. There is a lot of car theft and vandalism.
How is the weather?
30 Celsius in summer, -40 Celsius in Winter. Will change by 20 degrees in the course of a day.
Additional thoughts?
It is a central business hub. It has an International airport and a train station. It has choices for post-secondary schools. The city buses are confusing. Don't drive downtown on Jets nights, take a bus or stay home!
