What do you like about Sao Paulo?
a big cultural diversity, a great metropolis with different people and culture at a relatively harmonic cohabitation. Great cultural life and things to do.
What do you dislike about Sao Paulo?
violence / social differences / arrogance
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Paulista avenue region for everything / Vila Madalena / Lapa and South zones from Vila Mariana to Jabaquara are good to live
How expensive is it?
Very cheap for international patterns, a little expensive for locals, but if you don't want luxury, just essencial things like house and food, they are relatively cheap even for the lower classes.
Is it safe?
Its a relative question. In some regions it is very safe to live, in others, the suburban regions, very dangerous. It's average city in violence, most of it caused by a strong social exclusion problem.
How is the weather?
Bad. It rains too much, has a lot of flood problems, and the geography of the place helps to keep pollution over the city.
Additional thoughts?
Good place to live, probably the city with most possibilities in Brazil. If you have lots of problems with gray cities, keep distance. If you like nocturnal life, theatre, cinema and museuns, are welcome. A city with too much contrasts. Not a village compared to New York or Paris, but the greatest metropolis of the south-america.
