What do you like about Rouen?
Rouen is a very beautiful city where you can find lot of various activies, architectures. It's rouended by several cities and specially Mont saint aignan wich is a student city (means that there are several high schools, universities, etc ...) Walknig in rouen's streets can drive you from the touristic areas with lot of shops, restaurants to long walks along the seine (the main river in this region).
Want a part of fresh air and relaxing time ? no problem, just 2-3 kms and you got 4 vaste and beautiful forests. Want to find a job ? Industries in this region are very dynamic and with the touristic activity, a student can find easily a summer-job.

What do you dislike about Rouen?
The traffic jam. I work at only 10km from my house and I manage 45 minutes to go to work during the worst hours.
The prices of houses, but it is the same as in all other countries.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in?
Living in teh center of the town could be appreciated by young people (i mean around 20) because there everything clsoe to the hand. raillroad, subway, schools, nightclubs, pubs, museums .... but it is quite exepnsive to live in there and you'll certainly prefer linving in small town close to rouen taht will let you have less than 10 minutes to drive to center town.

How expensive is it?
Not so much. I'll say it quite the same than in other similar cities.

Is it safe?
Depends. Rouen is divided in 2 parts (with the river in the middle). If you live in the right part it is quite safe and the richest towns are on this part of rouen. If you live in the left part (only 30' subway between the 2) you'll say that it's not even good to walk alone after 10pm. By teh way, it really depends where you are but we can say that it is globally safe.

How is the weather?
Rouen and other cities in normandy is well known for teh rainny and cloudy weather. It not very true. Ok, in normandy there is often gray sky and because rouen is stuck with lot of industrial activity, there is no often a blue sky. By the way, I think that britanny is worst :)))

Additional thoughts?
a litle trip in rouen is easy (1 hour train/car from paris) so come here and let me know your feeling about this beautiful city.

What do you like about Rouen? It's a middle age style city. Old houses made of wood (colombages) and close to Paris and the see.
What do you dislike about Rouen? It's dead, not dynamic, and too much touristic.

What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? In "rive droite", in the old city, place where Jeanne d'Arc was burned.
How expensive is it? It's a little less expensive then Paris. (One coffee in a bar will cost 1€10 to 1€40)
Is it safe? It's ok, more and less.
How is the weather? almost rainy, and wept, warm in summer.
Additional thoughts?Come visit our middle age "Aitre Saint Maclou" with our "dead cat" Mascotte" So rare and curious!
