What do you like about Limerick? It is a vibrant ever changing city whose rule makers are finally thinking forward and are bringing the city up to speed with the 21st century. Also the diversity in population, we now have polish barbers, lithuanian grocery stores, russian video rental, all kinds of international restaurants etc...
Thirdly its rich history!
What do you dislike about Limerick? The public transport, the traffic control, the lack of police, the many fast food joints in the main street.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? To live Corbally area, to hang out the Lock Bar or the Old Quarter?Cornmarket area.
How expensive is it? Cheaper than other Irish cities, note Ireland is expensive.
Is it safe? Yes, just be streetwise and you will be OK.
How is the weather? Moderate, not very cold, not very warm. The 'odd' shower of rain!!
Additional thoughts? Love the place, it has most things you want in a city within a few miles distance, even an international airport within 30 mins drive!!

What do you like about Limerick? Its history, the compactness of the city, the easy going people, the fact that the local council is pedestrianising parts of the centre, the festivals in March and May.
What do you dislike about Limerick? The gangs that have taken over some run down suburbs, the night clubs.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The Cornmarket area at night or on Saturday mornings for the market, the walk from Corbally to UL.
How expensive is it? Cheapest houses in any city in Ireland, otherwise comparable to slightly cheaper than other cities.
Is it safe? Yes, if you stay out of above mentionned gang ruled suburbs (and you will cause you wont go there).
How is the weather? May and September are the best months to visit.
Additional thoughts? Moved here 12.5 years ago and still here and loving it!!!
