What do you like about Helsinki? As a capital it's quite small. You can get almost everywhere with public transport, the buses, trams and subway are clean, punctual and safe.
What do you dislike about Helsinki? There's nothing to really dislike, except maybe the fact that it's getting bigger all the time.
What are your favorite parts of the city to live and/or hang out in? The city center with its numbers of trees and parks. It is not a very large area internationally comparing, but it's beautiful with period buildings and a harmonic feel.
How expensive is it? It's quite expensive.
Is it safe? It's relatively safe, not as safe as 20 years ago, though. In daytime there is no violent crime to mention (pickpockets only, especially in tourist season), at nighttime avoid large parks, especially the one starting from behind the railway station.
How is the weather? Winters are cold and humid, summers are starting to be even hot.
Additional thoughts? A place to visit, if you're around in Scandinavia.
